Alexandra Jones is the IIRC’s Governance Manager, leading on its governance processes and on support for the IIRC’s Board, Council and key committees. She is an experienced and qualified governance professional, and has held senior executive positions in United Nations and Commonwealth organizations, international non-governmental organizations, regulatory bodies, membership organizations and foundations. She has also worked in management consultancy with McKinsey and Co, and serves on several academic and charitable boards.
Alexandra’s previous roles have included: Director of Strategy Planning and Evaluation and Board Secretary at the Commonwealth Secretariat; Chief Executive of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy; Senior Governance Adviser in the UNDP; and Governance Director at Amnesty International. Alexandra holds Masters’ degrees from the Universities of Oxford (languages), Harvard (public administration) and London (international relations); she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. Alexandra is a music-lover, singer and harpist, and a prize-winning poet and composer.
