Simon Grant

Group Executive – Advocacy and Professional Standing and International Development

Simon is an experienced executive with over 32 years’ experience in finance and accounting, banking and professional membership. Joining Chartered Accountants ANZ and its Australian predecessor 16 years ago as General Manager Queensland, Simon has worked tirelessly on behalf of members, and was appointed Head of Members for Australia and New Zealand in 2013 for Chartered Accountants ANZ and leveraged our combined organisations strength to build our international network.

Simon began his career in audit, working for Deusburys (now Deloitte). He then took up the role of a Lending Executive with Sanwa Australia Merchant Bank before doing his two year ‘OE’ in London.

Simon joined Arab Bank Australia Limited for the next six years ultimately being their Australian Head of Credit. His next roles were with Deloitte in Brisbane where Simon worked for six years, as Manager – Assurance and Advisory, and Deloitte Corporate Finance.

Simon became a Chartered Accountant in 1987 and a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2004. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Graduate of AICD.

Simon studied at the University of Queensland and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1984 and a Bachelor of Economics in 1982. He is currently participating in the AsiaLink programme.
