CIMA is the world’s largest and leading professional body of management accountants. Our members bring rigour to organisation’s decision making, by ensuring that decisions and performance are informed by the proper analysis of the relevant information and that the business is managed in the long-term interests of its stakeholders.
CIMA and the IIRC have a shared vision based on understanding and communicating on the value of the whole business. This is consistent with CIMA’s vision: Helping people and businesses to succeed.
CIMA played an important role in the development of the International <IR> Framework. Charles Tilley, our recent Chief Executive, sits on the IIRC Council and also chaired the IIRC Technical Task Force, the body responsible for developing the International <IR> Framework.
Management accounting plays an important role in successful adoption of Integrated Reporting. Professional management accountants help organisations to bring to the fore the most relevant information and analysis to create and preserve value. The Global Management Accounting Principles, developed by CGMA, are well aligned to the aims of integrated thinking and decision-making.
Integrated reporting is actively helping us to become a better and more accountable organisation. CIMA has produced four integrated reports; they help us think beyond compliance and financial reporting to deeply examine all the ways in which we deliver sustainable value.
