Wienand Schruff is a Certified German Auditor and a Senior Partner at KPMG. Since October 2013 Wienand Schruff has been a member of the Board of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). He has been serving on several Committees in the Institute of Auditors in Germany (IDW) where he has been Chairman of the Audit and Accounting Committee (HFA) 2001 – 2013.
During his 30 Years with KPMG he has held several senior leadership roles within KPMG at National, European and Global levels, including Chair of KPMG’s Global Regulatory Group and Chair of the International Financial Reporting Panel. He has been Managing Partner for KPMG’s Berlin office 1997 – 2001 and a Member of the Management Board of KPMG Germany January 1998 – October 2013.
From 1997 until 2001 he was a member of the IASC’s Standing Interpretations Committee, a predecessor to IFRS-IC for the IASB. He also served on several Working Groups at the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE).
Since 1986 Wienand Schruff has been lecturing at Universities regularly. He has been awarded an Honorary Professor of Accounting and Auditing by the University of Münster (1999) and by the Humboldt University of Berlin (2011). Having studied Business Administration at the Universities of Göttingen and Münster (Diploma 1979) Wienand Schruff received his Dr. rer.pol. (Ph.D.) at the University of Münster in 1984. His list of publications includes many articles, handbooks and commentary literature on Auditing and Accounting (German HGB and IFRS).
