Susanne leads Novo Nordisk’s efforts to be a sustainable business and is charged with oversight of corporate sustainability-driven programmes, the integrated Annual Report, stakeholder engagements and communication on the value of the company’s Triple Bottom Line (TBL) business principle.
In this capacity she sets the strategic direction for the company’s positioning as a sustainability leader and a pioneer in demonstrating the long-term business value of incorporating economic, social and environmental perspectives into its market proposition.
Susanne joined the Novo Group in 2000 to ingrain the TBL principle in the business as the lens for decision-making and a strong component of the corporate culture. Among her achievements are the successful integration of the company’s financial and sustainability reporting. Before that, she worked as a strategy and communications consultant in the field of environmental and sustainability issues management for more than a decade.
She is also member of the Board of the Access to Nutrition Foundation, adjunct professor of Corporate Sustainability at the Copenhagen Business School and a Berkeley Social Impact Fellow at the UC Berkeley-Haas School of Business.
