Timothy Christen

Mr Christen was Chairman of AICPA for 2015-2016. He has a history of contributions to the profession, including having served as a member of the AICPA’s Board of Directors and Governing Council. He has been a member of the AICPA’s Compensation and Political Action Committees, as well as the Member Advisory Panel. He has fifteen years of service as a member of the AICPA’s Major Firms Group, including as Chairman. He is Chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly). Baker Tilly is the branded US member firm of Baker Tilly International, the world’s eighth largest accounting firm network. He chairs the firm’s Board of Partners and Compensation Committees. He is actively engaged with Baker Tilly International and other member firms. He currently serves on the Baker Tilly International Board of Directors, the North American Regional Advisory Council and chairs the Remuneration Committee. He has been honored for his service to the profession, having been named one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and recognised as one of the five Most Admired US Managing Partners by Inside Public Accounting. In 2013, he was named to the Dane County Business Hall of Fame by InBusiness Magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which honored him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2001.
