Zubair is a corporate reporting and accounting specialist. He is a full time Accounting Consulting Services (ACS) partner in the National Office of the South African firm advising on corporate reporting. He is also one of a small group of partners that have been accredited to advise on IFRS by PwC globally.
From an integrated and corporate reporting perspective, Zubair is the convenor of judges for the Integrated Report Awards which is hosted by the Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa and the JSE.
He has worked with the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) as a facilitator and presenter at the IIRC pilot programme conference and has also presented a session to their Business Network.
Zubair has assisted and advised many clients regarding the preparation and thinking that goes behind the integrated report. He is responsible for the PwC South Africa annual review of the integrated reports of the Top40 companies on the JSE and the associated thought leadership publication.
He serves on the Financial Reporting Investigation Panel (FRIP) which was established to monitor compliance with financial reporting requirements, as provided for in the JSE Listings Requirements. He is also an accredited IFRS Advisor with the JSE.
He is a member of the Financial Reporting Technical Committee which advises the South African accounting standard setter. Zubair also spends time working on corporate governance matters, which is best reflected in his involvement with the Corporate Governance Network (CGN) of the Institute of Directors (IODSA). Zubair has authored books and publications and is a well-respected speaker and panel member at various forums.
