Corporate Reporting Dialogue Webinar: Have your say toward better alignment

Posted 14 March, 2019

Join us for this interactive one hour webinar on the 20th March at 8am, to kick-off of the Corporate Reporting Dialogue Better Alignment Project’s six-week consultation period, during which we will be inviting the market to
share their insights into how we can drive effective corporate reporting, addressing any barriers
caused by misalignment amongst reporting frameworks and standards.

During this one hour webinar, we will share updates from the Corporate Reporting Dialogue Better
Alignment Project, insights from report preparers and users on how to navigate the corporate
reporting system, and outline the consultation process.

We will also have technical experts on hand from CDP, CDSB, GRI, IIRC and SASB to answer any
questions you might have about this project.

Wed, 20 March 2019, 08:00 & 16:00 GMT

Registration to the event can be found here.

About the Better Alignment Project

The Better Alignment Project is a ground-breaking two-year project focused on driving better
alignment in the corporate reporting landscape, to make it easier for companies to prepare effective
and coherent disclosures that meet the information needs of capital markets and society.
Based on the understanding that ‘non-financial’ environmental, social and governance (ESG)
information often becomes financial in the long-term, investors are looking for further
harmonization of non-financial information and a better understanding of the reporting landscape.
Furthermore they want to understand the links between ESG information and both the risks and
opportunities of the organisation. As the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
recommendations have demonstrated, investors increasingly expect to find this information in
mainstream financial filings.

Through this project, the Corporate Reporting Dialogue participants, including CDP, the Climate
Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the International Integrated
Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), are committing to
continuous progression towards further alignment where possible between ESG reporting standards
and to improving the integration of non-financial and financial information going forwards.

Multi-Stakeholder Consultation

We are committed to keeping the market regularly informed of our progress, and making sure this is
an open project, through regular stakeholder engagement, events, roundtables and progress
updates.

The Better Alignment Project’s global stakeholder consultation period will take place from March
until May 2019. As part of the consultation process, we will open an online survey, available on
www.corporatereportingdialogue.com, from 20 March until 1 May 2019. Regional stakeholder
engagement roundtables will be held globally from April until May 2019.

Information gathered from the consultation period will inform the end of year one report, to be
launched in September 2019, as well as identify focus areas for further ESG alignment work in year
two.
This is a two-year project, with the initial findings due to be published in September 2019 on
