Deputy Practice Leader, Finance Practice

Elisa Vacherand is a sustainable finance expert with 20 years experience in Banking and working with NGOs. In her current role, Ms. Vacherand supports WWF’s International Finance Practice Lead in managing the implementation of the Practice strategy across the organisation and beyond. Prior to joining WWF International, Ms. Vacherand was a consultant at UNEP Finance Initiative, where she was in charge of the implementation of the Principles for Positive Impact Finance, working with more than 20 leading international banks and investors to help them identify and develop businesses that contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Ms. Vacherand had a career in banking including with BNP Paribas as the group global head of Environmental, Social, and Governance risk management, and in various positions at Société Générale, including as a credit derivatives trader in New York and market risk manager in Paris. She holds a Master in Finance from Université Paris Dauphine and a Master of Science in Management, Institut Mines-Télécom Business School, Paris. She is based in Gland, Switzerland.
