Christian Strenger

Christian Strenger

Professor Christian Strenger is a member of the German Government Commission for the Corporate Governance Code, as well as academic director of the Center for Corporate Governance at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, a leading business university in Leipzig, Germany.

He serves as a member of supervisory boards, including Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, Frankfurt, ‘The Germany Funds’, New York (Chairman) and TUI AG. He is also deputy chairman of the ‘Private Sector Advisory Group’ of the IFC Global Governance Knowledge Group and a member of the International Corporate Governance Network, where he was chairman in 2005/06.

His professional career includes corporate finance responsibilities at Deutsche Bank’s head office in Frankfurt from 1972; then as general manager of Deutsche Bank’s London Branch from 1982; as chief executive of the US investment banking activities of the Bank in New York from 1985 to 1991 and serving as CEO of DWS Investment GmbH in Frankfurt/Main (leading European fund manager) from 1991 to 1999.
